How does a QR code for car owners work?

They point their phone camera at the sticker, with no app and no sign-up, and tap what is wrong: blocked in, lights on, a window open, a tow or a ticket, damage. You and everyone on your list get it at once. That is how people contact car owners without a number on the glass.

What does a stranger learn about me?

Only the name and colour you chose for the car, so they know it is the right one. Never your name, your number, your email or your plate. You decide whether to reply, and your reply shows on their screen.

Do I need an app?

You and your people get alerts in the free iQR Alerts app for iPhone and Android. If the app is not installed yet, the alert falls back to a text or an email. Whoever scans needs only their phone camera.

My spot is underground with no bars. Does it still work?

The scan needs their signal, not yours: mobile data or Wi-Fi on their phone sends it. The alert waits on your phone and arrives as soon as you are back in range.

Where does a QR code sticker for car windows go?

Inside the windshield, low on the passenger side, clear of your view and the wipers. Rules differ by place, so keep it small and out of your line of sight. The dashboard card leans against the windshield on the passenger side, facing out, while you’re parked; the hang tag goes on the mirror. Put either away before you drive.

Can a vehicle QR code sticker stop a tow?

No sticker can. It gets the warning to you and your list the moment someone taps it, with a photo if they add one; moving the car is still up to you. The same code works on a motorbike, a van, an RV or a boat, and five codes are free.
