Questions about app download QR codes

How does one code reach two stores?

The code opens a short iQR link, and the link reads the phone it was opened on: iPhones and iPads go to the App Store, Android phones to Google Play. A laptop gets a small page with both buttons, or your website, so one QR code for App Store and Google Play covers every screen.

Why not just print the App Store link?

You can, and a plain App Store QR code works for iPhones only. Android phones land on a page they cannot use. A Google Play QR code has the same problem the other way round.

Can I change the store links later?

Yes. The printed code stays the same; the links behind it are editable, so a new listing, a second store or a renamed app does not cost you a reprint.

What if my app is only in one store?

Add the one link you have. A phone of the other kind sees a short page that says so, with your store button, or your website if you add one. Add the second store when it is ready and the printed code picks it up.

Do you count installs?

No. iQR counts scans: how many, when, roughly where, and which store each one was sent to. What happens inside the store is measured by the store’s own tools, not by us.

Can I tell the poster from the packaging?

Only with a separate code for each. Scans are counted per code, and the free plan includes one app download code, so it shows every scan together, split by store and by day.
