Questions about a phone number QR code

Can a QR code start a phone call?

Yes. Scan this call QR code and a page opens with one big Call button. Tap Call. The first time, the browser asks to use the microphone. Then the call goes over the internet and every phone on your list rings in the free iQR Alerts app. The caller needs no app and no account.

Can a QR code hide my phone number?

This one has no number in it. A plain QR code for calling carries your number, so everyone who scans it sees it. Here the call travels over the internet, from their browser to your app. They never see your number, and you only see theirs if they write it.

What if nobody answers?

Everyone on your list rings at once, and the first to answer takes the call. If nobody picks up, the caller can leave a voice message (or a video one, if you allow video calls). Outside your hours nothing rings: callers can write instead, and you get one summary when your hours start.

What happens when I switch a code off?

Calls and messages to it stop, and anyone who scans reads “This line is switched off”. The sign or card already out there goes quiet, which a QR code that calls a number never can. Switch it back on whenever you like.

Can I block someone who keeps calling?

Yes. Open their call, from Recent callers on your line’s page or from the alert on your phone, and tap Block this caller. In the iQR Alerts app, open the chat, tap ⋮, then Block this finder. They can’t ring or write to that code from that phone again.

Does it cost anything?

No. Up to 10 lines are free, with no subscription and no number to rent. Calls use mobile data or Wi-Fi on both phones, not call minutes.
